VideoPier is the missing link between MPEG2/AVCHD camcorders and your Mac. It lets you visualize the clips on your camera that Quicktime would otherwise refuse to open. VideoPier lets you copy them to disk, and export them to any format for viewing (iPod, AppleTV, iPhone) or editing (iMovie 06/08).

VideoPier will let you copy files from your camcorder to disk without any conversion. Your files will appear in date-based events for easy retrieval.

VideoPier is built on top of the ffmpeg open-source component. This component provides very high quality video processing and support for a wide variety of formats.

What’s New in this Version
* added support for the Elgato Turbo.264 encoding device. If you are exporting your clips to iPhone, iPod or AppleTV, you can now enjoy dramatically increased performance during encoding thanks to hardware acceleration.
* added support for a category of camcorders recoding their clips in Quicktime MP4 format. VideoPier will now let you import, visualize and transcode these files. This new feature makes VideoPier work well with Sanyo camcorders. New version of FFMPEG. This version improves playback and performance in the case of AVCHD videos.
* changed the installation path for FFMPEG. This will require a new download of ffmpeg when you start VideoPier 1.1 for the first time.
* added support for volume and site licenses.
* numerous minor bug fixes througout the application.
